‘Tainted’ MLA gifts Rs 62L idol to Rahul
Hosapete: Independent MLA from Kudligi B Nagendra, who has decided to join the Congress, on Saturday gifted a 1.5-feet gold-coated silver idol of Saint Valmiki to the Congress president Rahul Gandhi at the launch of his Janaashirvada Yatra here. The memento is said to be worth Rs 62 lakh.
Former BJP MLA B Anand Singh, who recently joined the Congress, gifted Rahul a silver ‘gadhe’ (mace). Nagendra and Singh are accused in the mining scam. The two, who were arrested in the past, are now out on bail.
