Thieves Barge into Locked House in Brahmavar
Udupi: Thieves barged into a locked house at Thenku Birthi near Brahmavar, heaped cash and valuables worth lakhs of Rupees and escaped with the booty.
According to Brahmavar Police, Mohammed Asif Ameer Saheb had built a new house in Brahmavar 8 months ago and had left to Muscat with his family. The house key was given with his relatives Ziyad to take care of the house. Thieves targeted the house between 5 February 1:00 pm and February 6 evening.
The theft came to light when the housemaid of the family visited the house on Thursday, February 6 evening. After the maid conveyed the information about the theft to Ziyad a complaint was filed at the Brahmavar Police Station.
As per the complaint, the thieves have taken away a sum of Rs one lakh cash and gold ornaments worth about Rs 1.2 lakh from the house.
Brahmavar CPI Anananthapadmanabah, PSI Raghavendra along with the dog squad and fingerprint experts visited the spot and gathered the necessary information.
A case of theft has been registered in the Brahmavar Police Station.
