This will be the Last Elections for BJP and Not Congress, Modi Countdown has Begun – Ivan D’Souza

Mangaluru: “AICC President is touring Karnataka and we are seeing the people supporting him a lot. Everywhere we are seeing the Rahul wave. On March 20, Rahul visited Mangaluru and a lot of youth voluntarily joined the Janaashirvad Yatra which shows that the people of Dakshina Kannada want peace and harmony. In this election, we are sure to win at least 130 to 140 seats in the assembly elections. Recently Sadananda Gowda said, “This is the last election for Congress”, I think if Sadananda Gowda was active in his position he would have done better. I think 2019 will be the last elections for BJP, Modi’s countdown has begun”, said the chief whip Ivan D’Souza in a press meet held at his office, MCC Premises here on March 26.

Addressing the mediapersons Ivan said, “People of this country are aware of the BJP. The pulse of people has shown that the Congress is the only party which can provide a secular government. BJP may think that by creating communal violence and showing concern over the dead bodies of Hindus they can win the elections. The people of DK and Udupi are intelligent and they have understood the agenda of the BJP. In Karnataka, we see a lot of development and front of development Modi’s Mann ki Baat or communal violence will not work. Sadananda Gowda had commented that this election is the last election for Congress but Sadananda Gowda has forgotten that the Indian National Congress was founded in 1885 and BJP founded in 1979”.

Ivan further said, “Recently Yogi Adityanath was in Mangaluru to deliver a speech but as soon as he reached back to his own state, in his own block BJP was defeated very badly. This is the sign that people have understood the agenda of BJP. In Karnataka, we have done a lot of development work under the leadership of CM Siddaramaiah and people will elect Congress candidates in the coming elections and Siddarmaiah will be the next CM of Karnataka.”

Ivan also said, “When Sadananda Gowda was the CM, he failed to provide justice to the farmers. Some of the BJP leaders went to jail for corruption, even the CM himself had gone to jail for corruption. Without applying his mind Sadananda Gowda is giving statements. The National President of BJP Amit Shah says, “A Bomb to every Pakistani Bullet is the only solution”, but every day our soldiers are being attacked. Modi is busy in touring foreign countries, he has failed to protect the borders of our country. By lying to the people how many days will the BJP rule the country? We are always seeing the portfolio of Modi and Amit Shah, the rest of the ministers are for namesake. We do not know what portfolio the other ministers have in the NDA government. They are all being used to campaign during the elections. A single man is running the country which is a grave danger to democracy. BJP is aware that they will not win the forthcoming elections so they are involved in negative publicity by giving breaking news.”

“In the year 2017-18 the state government allocated Rs 175 crores for the welfare of the Christian minority from the Karnataka minority Development Parishath. Through the Parishath Rs 150 crores have been utilized for renovating the churches, to build community halls and for the development of the old age homes. We have distributed the funds to the Christian minorities in 27 districts and Rs 25 crore has been sanctioned for self-employment, students scholarship, Shramashakti and other schemes. We have held meetings on February 22 and 28 during which we have distributed Rs 167.25 crores for community halls, Church and Cemetary development we have sanctioned Rs 1217 lakh and for old age homes we have sanctioned Rs 1.1 crore. Earlier there was an allegation that the Christian minority was not spending the government funds but this time we have spent all the sanctioned funds for the development of the Minority community”, said Ivan.
