Thota Bengre Rape Case, Bantwal ASI Suspended for Dereliction of Duty
Mangaluru: The Dakshina Kannada SP has suspended the ASI of Bantwal for dereliction of duty on November 29.
According to the press statement, On November 18, a couple was waylaid by 7 youth and the girl was gang-raped by them. On November 20, the victim had gone to the Bantwal Town Police station to file a complaint. But the ASI on duty Raghuram Hegde refused to file the complaint and directed the victim to go to the police station where the crime was committed since the crime spot did not come under their jurisdiction.
Finally, the case was filed at the Pandeshwar Women’s police station.
The SP of DK Dr Ravikanthe Gowda suspended ASI Raghuram for dereliction of duty and the investigation is on in this regard.
