Three Police Suspended After HJV Leader Escapes from Hospital

Puttur: Two police constables and a PSI have been suspended after Hindu Jagarana Vedike President Ratnakar Shetty escaped from the hospital here on June 15.

The suspended police are Head Constable Radhakrishna, Police constable Ramesh Lamani and PSI Omana.

Ratnakar Shetty was admitted to the Adarsh Hospital in Puttur with injuries sustained during the violence in Kalladka. Ratnakar Shetty was also an accused in the Khaleel attack case in Kalladka. Three police personnel were deployed in the hospital to guard Ratnakar. On June 14 late night when the police were fell asleep, Ratnakar managed to escape from the hospital.

Ratnakar was allegedly stabbed during the violence and admitted to the Adarsh Hospital in Puttur. The Bantwal police are searching for Ratnakar Shetty.
