Mangaluru: Mogerodi Gopalakrishna Melanta (68), a contractor managing toll-gates in Suratkal and Brahmarakootlu and other places, passed away in a private hospital in the city on Thursday morning, following a brief illness.
He is survived by wife, a son and a daughter.
He was born in an agriculturists’ family in Mogerodi near Padmunja in Beltangady taluk. Over the past few years, he lived with his family in Kadri, Mangaluru.
He was actively involved in Lions Club activities over the past 40 years.
