Two Arrested in Cattle Trafficking, 17 Buffaloes Rescued
Udupi: The Amasebailu Police arrested two persons in connection with trafficking cattle and rescued 17 buffaloes at the Hosangadi check post here on July 25.
The arrested have been identified as Mehboob (27) a resident of Davangere and Allah Bhakshi (27) a resident of Hangal.
According to the police, on July 25, while the police were on patrol at Hosangadi check post, they stopped a truck coming from Shivamogga for checking. While checking, they found 17 buffaloes loaded inhumanely in the truck.
The police arrested two persons in the truck and rescued 17 buffaloes from their possession.
The Amasebailu Police have registered an FIR against the owner of the buffaloes Haneef and the truck owner Jafar Sadiq.
During the investigation, it is revealed that the accused were transporting buffaloes from Haveri to Mangaluru.
