Two Die in Car-tempo Collision at Santhekatte
Udupi: In a tragic road accident 2 persons died and two others injured after a Tempo collided head on into a car, on NH 66 near Santhekatte Bridge here on July 14.
The deceased have been identified as Tempo driver Sundar (55) a resident of Bailur and car driver Anup. Two others who were seriously injured were rushed to the hospital.
According to sources, the tempo was on its way to Udupi from Kundapur, a car coming from Udupi lost control while trying to avoid the Pothole and moved to the right side of the road. The car crossed the road divider and collided head-on into the tempo coming from opposite direction. The tempo driver was killed on the spot. Later the car driver also succumbed to injuries without responding to treatment in the hospital.
Both the vehicles were badly damaged due to the impact of the collision.
Udupi Traffic Police have registered a case.
