Two held for killing Nepal national in Delhi

New Delhi: A 26-year-old youth was arrested and his juvenile accomplice apprehended for killing a Nepali national here, police said on Tuesday.

According to the police, the murder took place over an amount of Rs 30,000 that one of the accused had borrowed from the deceased. As the lender wanted the money back, the accused chose to thrash him to death.

The incident took place on March 21 night when the accused, Nitin Yadav, informed the police about an injured person — later identified as Bhoj Narayan, 48 — lying on road near a farm house in Kapashera. He tried to project himself as a good samaritan to bluff the police.

“When the police contacted Nitin Yadav, he tried to mislead them, saying he is taking the injured to a hospital and is on his way. He, however, did not divulge any satisfactory information regarding the whereabouts of the injured or the hospital he was headed for,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Devender Arya.

“The team later located the crime spot close to FIMT College in Kapashera. Some blood marks were found on the road adjacent to a wall,” he said.

Yadav later told the police that he had admitted Narayan in a private hospital in Dwarka where doctor declared him dead, the DCP said.

Narayana, 48, stayed in a rented accommodation in Kapashera village.

“Following sustained interrogation, Yadav broke down and admitted his crime. He disclosed that he had murdered Narayan with the help of his juvenile accomplice by hitting him with an iron rod. Yadav said he had borrowed Rs 30,000 from Narayan a few months ago. When he started pestering him to return his money, he planned to kill him,” he said.
