UAE Exchange Marks International Happiness Day with Opening of New Global Headquarters

Dr B R Shetty inaugurates the new state-of-the-art office premises in Al Reem Island bringing its family of over 300 people under one roof

Abu Dhabi: Bringing its happy family of over 300 employees under one roof, UAE Exchange marked the International Day of Happiness with Chairman Dr B R Shetty inaugurating its new global headquarters at Tamouh Tower in Al Reem Island, Abu Dhabi, on 20 March 2017.

The new premises with contemporary industrial architecture and state-of-the-art technology is designed on an open office concept, facilitating seamless access between various sections of the leading global remittance, foreign exchange and payment solutions brand.

“From a small office space back in 1980 when we started our operations to the new 65,000 square feet global hub, UAE Exchange has come a long way in business growth and employee strength. As we work towards excellence and innovation in line with the digital age we are passing through, it was imperative that we streamline our operations fostering more interconnectivity between people to maximise our ability to contribute to the society,” said Dr B R Shetty, Chairman, UAE Exchange.

The new premises with cutting-edge digital capabilities span four floors of the tower. Three entire floors are dedicated to work stations built on an open-office concept while one whole floor will function as a multi-purpose space which can be converted into a cafeteria, area for training, workshops or town hall meetings. Digital screens across each floor, a single data centre, faster connectivity, etc. are some of the new features of the office with which blends design and functionality.

He said the new office was also in line with the plans of UAE Exchange to go digital and paperless in the coming years. With 21 meeting rooms, a huge library, separate prayer rooms for men and women, gym and other recreational facilities, the new office will be an invigorating environment to employees.

Expressing their appreciation, employees said that the positive ambience of the new office will nurture professional excellence while allowing personal space to all. “I am excited about the new set up. It will help me connect with all my colleagues every day as we see each other under the same roof. This instant collaboration will help me do my job better,” said Trupthi Rai, Office Assistant, Legal and Corporate Affairs.

Another employee who has been with the brand for 36 years, Anto Bernard, AVP – Projects, said, “For us, the open-office is a whole new concept. The new office is more spacious and care has been given to the needs of various employees. I can already see a refreshing and rejuvenating spirit among the staff which will seamlessly contribute to a greater value – customer delight.”

Apart from the opening of the new global headquarters, UAE Exchange also marked the International Happiness Day with the launch of an exclusive lounge for its High Net-worth Individual (HNI) customers in Dubai. It also recognised employees for best customer service on the occasion.

The staff of UAE Exchange also brought cheer among the residents of old-age homes in Sharjah and Ras Al Khaimah as well as Center for Protection of Women in Sharjah. A free medical check-up for privileged customers of Smart Pay was organised in association with NMC doctors in Dubai. A mini fair was also organised for the children of Rashid Centre for the Disabled.
