UAE Exchange Wins CIO Awards 2017 for Technology Infrastructure – Future Proofing Initiative

Dubai: UAE Exchange, the global remittance, foreign exchange and payment solutions brand, was honoured with the CIO Awards 2017 in a glittering ceremony held at Ritz-Carlton, JBR Hotel, in Dubai today.

Ragy Magdy, Vice President – Sales of Etisalat, presented the award to UAE Exchange in recognition of the brand’s new data centre initiative ‘Technology Infrastructure – Future Proofing’ that uses information technology (IT) in a strategic and innovative way to augment business initiatives.

“It is a proud moment for us to be recognised at the CIO Symposium and Awards ceremony. We have always revolutionised our products and processes to enhance customer experience and improve business continuity. Various technological initiatives have been taken up towards this over the last 36 years. The new data centre initiative is one of them whose architecture lays the foundation for our next digital journey,” said Surendra Shetty, Chief Information Officer of UAE Exchange, while receiving the award.

With an emphasis on digitisation and meeting the evolving needs of the dynamic customers, the brand embarked on ‘Technology Infrastructure – Future Proofing’ initiative that aimed at consolidating and migrating two humongous data centres into an advanced single data centre. Built on software-defined networks with three layered topology and a strict boundary protection across the security zones, the advanced Tier3 Data Centre at UAE Exchange is a state-of-the-art solution that provides its customers and employees with a seamless qualitative experience across various processes.

“Every year, CNME magazine celebrates 100 organisations that have made the best use of technology to derive strategic value and maximum returns for their businesses. The process for choosing the CIO 100 honorees is systematic and very competitive. We pick the winners from a pool of more than 300 entries from across the Middle East, and the companies that make it onto the CIO 100 index each year serve as inspiration and proof that striking new paths in IT can yield rich business rewards,” said Jeevan Thankappan, Group Editor of CPI Media Group’s Technology division, which organises CIO 100 Awards.

The multi-transactional and hybrid payment methods enable the brand to bring more products to the market and handle more transactional volume, thus, strengthening the business revenue. The platform also leverages improved monitoring and problem identification, resulting in being more robust, secure and resilient to attacks. It also minimises data loss as well as lowers operational cost. The concepts of virtualisation of servers and storage, infrastructure on demand etc. makes this initiative more eco-friendly too.

The CIO 100 Awards 2017 celebrates leaders who are grabbing the opportunity to put themselves at the core of business decision making and constantly striving for innovative practices.
