UAE: Yakshamitraru Dubai, a dedicated organization which promotes ‘Yakshagana’, the rich and unique folk-art of Tulunadu around UAE will be organizing “Veerochana Tharanisena” a historical play on 16 June 2016 at Sheikh Rashid Auditorium, Dubai to celebrate their 13th year of existence.
Amateur members of Yakshamithraru every year perform Yakshagana with the main intention to preserve the traditional and ancient form of art for the generation to come. Yakshamithraru are role models to others by training and providing opportunity to all those keen and interested towards yakshagana without any charges and motivate children and young generation to be a part of Yakshagana in the gulf region.
The muhurtham of “Veerochana Tharanisena” was recently held in Woodshine carpentry office under the leadership of M Vasudeva Bhat along with puthige Venkatesha Shasthri and Shivaraj Bhat. After puja Jagatte and prasanga book were handed over to Shekhar Shettigar, all the artistes symbolically practiced and officially inaugurated the practice session of Yakshagana. Meantime, new members who were interested to learn yakshagana were welcomed and introduced. Shekhar Shettigar and Venkatesh Shastry briefed about the upcoming yakshagana programme and requested all yakshagana lovers to extend their support and co-operation for its success.
Senior member Vittal Shetty further briefed that the guest artistes arriving from India for this years programme will be noted Yakshagana artistes, Pattla Satish Shetty and Ravichandra Kannadikatte who will lead in Bhagavathike, Guruprasad Bolinjadka in Maddale, Srikanth Shetty will perform the female character and costumes and make-up will be done by Lakshman Kumar Marakada and Gangadhar D Shettigar.
Dinesh Shetty Kottinje, conveyer of Yakshamithraru Dubai, Chindananda Poojary, Venkatesh Shastry, Shekhar Shettigar, and all the amateur artistes and family members actively participated and made the Muhurtham very successful.
