Udupi: Three persons have been arrested by the DCIB police at Hiriyadka here on January 27.
The arrested are Dinaker Poojary (29), from Huthurke Hebri, Aravind Nayak (31) from Shirva Manchakal and Sandeep Mogaveer from Aroor Udupi.
On a tip-off the DCIB team, Under the able guidance of SP K Annamalaiah, ASP Santosh Kumar and K M Chandrashekar, Inspector T R Jai Shanker, Udupi Circle Inspector K Shrikant and PSI Madhu T S raided a place in Hiriyadka and took three persons into custody. All the three were planning to take the life of a businessman from Shirva.
The police seized a revolver and two rounds of ammunition, a Machete and three mobile phones from them. During interrogation it was revealed that all the three have connections with the underworld.
Dinaker Poojary is involved in various crimes, and cases have been registered against him in the Malpe and Padubidri police stations. ASI Rosario D’Souza, Ravichandra, Suresha, Santosh Kumar, Santhosh Nittur, Chandra Shetty, Ramu Hegde, Mohan Kothwal, Thomas, Raghavendra, Bsheer, Shanker, Chandrashekar and Mahabaleshwar took part in the operation.
