Udupi: A car driver ended his life by allegedly committing suicide, hanging himself in a commercial complex room late on Tuesday, March 17 here at Chaya Commercial Complex, Badagupete.
The deceased has been identified as Suresh Ganiga (50), a resident of Jangamabettu near Kallianpur.
According to the police, Suresh Ganiga had joined a private travel agency as a driver on February 5 and was staying in the Chaya Commercial Complex room with two other drivers who were also his friends. On Tuesday night, when he was alone in the room, Suresh hanged himself to the ceiling of the room. The reason for the suicide is yet to be ascertained.
A case has been registered in the Udupi Town Police Station.
