Udupi: Two lakh applications for houses and commercial complexes are waiting to be processed, but due to lack of interest of the State government to frame by-laws the panchayats are denying to issue new licenses to the people said Shobha Karandlaje, MP Udupi-Chikkamagaluru LS Constituency. She was addressing a press meet at Rajathadri Manipal here on March 30.
The government has a dedicated team of IAS officers who can frame new by-laws in a short span of time, but the government is not efficient in taking this initiative.

Developmental works initiated by the state government are in vain. Government officials fear to work under the Congress led state government after the suspicious death of Assistant Commissioner of Commercial taxes D K Ravi.
The Congress government is catering to sand mafia in the state as its ministers and MLA’s are involved in the same.
The issues with the slow construction work of National Highway 66 are discussed with the Deputy Commissioner and the NH officials. 56 Km work is in the completion stage while the work of 9 Km will be completed soon. 9 new bridges are constructed on the rivers connecting NH66 of which 7 bridges will be opened by the end of May.
She also said that she has widely discussed in the Lok Sabha on establishing ESI hospital in Udupi. The state government needs to send a proposal for the same, she added.
The DPR process for the construction of Malpe-Theerthalli NH has been completed while talks are on with the surface minister for the construction of tunnel in Agumbe ghat to protect the ecosystem.
Government needs to be serious on the Kasturirangan Report as the days are nearing for the submission of the report to the green bench of the Supreme Court, she added.
