Udupi Dist admin to hold PMKVY Job fair ‘Bharavase’ on Feb 24

Udupi: “The district administration in association with the Union Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Dr Shivarama Karantha Prathistana Kota jointly is organizing Udupi district level Job Fair ‘Bharavase’ in Kota on February 24”, said Kota Srinivas Poojary, MLC and leader of opposition Legislative council.

He was speaking at a press meet held at the Press Club on Wednesday, February 20. The job fair will be held to give a fillip to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s flagship outcome-based skill training scheme that aims at providing skill training to the youth along with government certification and financial reward.

More than 1500 unemployed youth in the district will take part in the job fair, where various companies, institutions, and banks will conduct an interview for over 2,000 vacancies.

The PMKVY not only provides skill training to youth but also ensures government certification and financial reward. “Candidates, from school dropouts to graduates who are unemployed, may get trained in 32 skills under the PMKVY scheme. To mobilize the scheme, we have planned a job fair in association with Rooman Technologies that provide skill training,” he said.

The district minister in-charge Dr Jayamala will be inaugurating the programme while MP Shobha Karandlaje, Assembly Speaker Prathapchandra Shetty; MLA Kundapur Haladi Srinivas Shetty and other dignitaries will take part in the inaugural programme, Kota said.
