Udupi District congress pays tribute to Indira Gandhi on birth centenary

Udupi: The Udupi district congress on Sunday November 19 paid tribute to former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi on her birth centenary.

The Udupi District Minister In-charge Pramod Madhwaraj by lighting 100 lamps and paying respect to the great soul of Indira Gandhi remembered her supreme sacrifice for the unity and integrity of the nation. Indira Gandhi created history by providing an able and dynamic leadership to the Country and was acknowledged as a strong and visionary leader in the world. She will always be remembered as a leader of the masses with strong commitment to the upliftment of the poor and the downtrodden and for her devotion to the cause of the nation. She did not succumb against any pressure for the unity and integrity of the nation. Every family in the country has benefited by the schemes implemented by Indira Gandhi in one way or the other. So every family should remember her today, he added.

District congress chief Janardhan Tonse, Congress leaders Dinesh Putran, Vishwas Ameen, Yathish Karkera, Meenakshi Madhava, Amrith Shenoy, Sunil Bangera, Prakyath Shetty and others were present.
