Udupi District Hospital Shut for Sanitization after 2 Doctors and Staff Test Positive for Coronavirus

Udupi: The Udupi district administration on July 16 closed down the district govt hospital, Ajjarkad after two doctors, three staff and patients were tested positive for the coronavirus.

According to Dr Madhusudhan Nayak district hospital surgeon, a patient who had been admitted to the hospital for surgery tested positive for the coronavirus. The hospital authorities sent the throat swab of two doctors, a nurse, three other staff and patients who were admitted in the same ward. The test report of two doctors, three staff and nine patients turned out to be positive for the virus. The hospital is partially closed for three days for sanitization.

New admissions to the hospital have been stopped, and the hospital is closed for sanitization. The emergency section, Isolation ward and fever clinic will operate as usual.
