Udupi: Malpe Police Raid Illegal Slaughter House, Nab One, Three Escape

Udupi: The Malpe Police raided an illegal slaughter house at Gudderi Kambala near Hoode. One person was arrested and 17 cattle including calves were rescued on August 31.

The arrested has been identified as Ashraf, a resident of Hoode. Three other accused managed to escape from the spot, police sources said.

According to Malpe PSI Ravi Kumar, on August 31, morning during their daily beat, the police noticed an Omni car carrying hay from Malpe to Hoode. When the vehicle was stopped near Kemmannu for inspection, it did not stop. Later, when the police traced the car, they found a slaughter house located in a coconut tree farm in Gudderi Kambala near Hoode.

The police seized 17 cattle which included calves, the Maruti Omni car, ropes, knives, hatchets and other items used for slaughtering animals. Ashraf revealed that the cattle were brought for slaughtering.

A case has been registered in the Malpe police station.
