Udupi: Minister Vinay Kumar Sorake Inaugurates Kotatattu Grama Panchayat Building

Udupi: A proposal of Rs 24 crore to facilitate the drinking water needs of Saligrama has been approved by the government, said Vinay Kumar Sorake, Minister for Urban Development and Minister-in-charge District. He was speaking after inaugurating the newly built Panchayat building of Kotatattu Grama under the Gramodaya Project here, on February 15.

“The district has received 24 thousand applications under 94 C. Land deeds will be issued to the people residing in government lands. The government will launch Swarna Grama project where 75 lakhs will be allotted to each legislative constituency.”

“The CRZ problem is creating difficulty to facilitate development in coastal areas. A discussion on the same has been held and a recommendation to reduce the CRZ limit as applicable in Goa and Kerala will be followed if the Prime Minister gives his consent to the proposal,” he said.

Kota Grama Panchayat president Shobha presided over the function. Kota Srinivas Poojary, MLC Capt Ganesh Karnik, Zilla Panchayat member Sunitha Rajaram, TP member Raghavendra Kanchan, entrepreneur Ananda C Kundar, former president of KMF Divakar Shetty, Thimma Poojay and others were present.

Former presidents and vice presidents, building contractors, meritorious students and achievers were felicitated on the occasion. PDO Parvathi delivered the introductory remarks, vice president Pramod Hande welcomed the gathering. Narendra Kumar Kota compered the programme.
