Udupi: A bike rider was killed on the spot and the pillion rider seriously injured after their motorcycle collided with a truck on NH 66 near Santhekatte here, on August 2.
The deceased has been identified as Ashok (32), a resident of Salmara Uppuru, and Ramesh the injured pillion rider.
According to the PSI of Traffic Madhu T S, the truck was plying to Kundapur from Udupi, at Santhekatte, while the truck was trying to overtake another vehicle, it hit the oncoming motorcycle. Bike rider Ashok was injured seriously and died on the spot. While the pillion rider Ramesh also being seriously injured, was rushed to the hospital.
A case has been registered in the Traffic Police Station.
