Udupi: The Padubidri police on Friday January 8 arrested a inter-district thief, who was involved in a house theft case in Padubidri on December 26.
The accused has been identified as Abubakker Akka Kenitic Abubakker (60) resident of Uppalli, Chikkamagaluru district.
According to the police he was involved in the theft case at Janardhan Rao’s House in Adamar near Padubidri on December 26 night and stolen Rs 1.50 lakh worth gold ornaments. He is also wanted in several other cases in Chikkamagaluru and other districts. He is residing in Moolur near Padubidri for the past couple of years and has committed thefts in various places.
He was arrested from Bantwal by a police team led by Kaup Circle inspector Sunil Nayak while he was appearing to the court for an old case. Police have recovered the gold ornaments from the accused.
