Due to the election code of conduct District minister in-charge Vinay Kumar Sorake in his short message said, “We have gathered here on a very special occasion of our nation, the Republic Day of our country. India got independence from the British rule on 15th of August in 1947 which we celebrate as Independence Day; however, we celebrate 26th of January as a Republic Day since 1950. The Constitution of India came into force on 26th of January in 1950, so we celebrate this day as the Republic Day every year. This was the day when our rights and duties were brought to a concrete form and it holds a lot of value in the heart and minds of every Indian. India’s Constitution was displayed to the world on this day. Many great scholars and freedom fighters have put in their efforts to draft our Constitution and we should remember their efforts.”
