Udupi: Process for Availing Social Security Schemes Streamlined – MLA Pramod Madhwaraj

Udupi: The government formulates policies for the people, and government officials are the bridges between the people and the government, said Pramod Madhwaraj, MLA of Udupi constituency. He was speaking after distributing schemes to beneficiaries of 10 hobalis coming under the purview of Udupi constituency at the Udupi Taluk Panchayat here, on September 9.

Twenty one thousand people in Udupi constituency receive pensions amounting to Rs 1.5 crore every month. The Congress government boosted the Sandhya Suraksha scheme introduced by the BJP government which faced crisis in later stages.

He also said that the process for availing social security schemes was streamlined and people are witnessing their applications being cleared in a month. People who had applied for the schemes and had their applications rejected can participate in the pension adalat. He assured of stringent action against the officials who fail to assist people availing social security schemes.

The necessity for distribution of schemes to the beneficiaries by the MLA himself was to make it possible for the people to directly interact with the MLA, said Tahsildar Guruprasad.

A total of 109 beneficiaries of various schemes were distributed cheques and documents by the MLA. Three families were provided with relief under the Natural Calamity Fund.
