Udupi: Rice Mill owner’s wife killed in Car-tanker collision

Udupi: A 37-year-old woman was killed and her husband was severely injured when the Ritz Car they were travelling in rammed into a tanker on NH 66 near Ambalpadi Bypass here on Sunday May 31.

The deceased has been identified as Sowmya Shenoy (37) wife of Radhakrishna Shenoy owner of Kasthuri rice mill Udyavar.

The incident took place around 12:00 noon when Radhakrishna Shenoy along with his wife were travelling from Udyavar to attend a marriage function in Udupi. When they reached near Ambalpadi Bypass, Radhakrishna tried to overtake another vehicle, their car collided head on into a tanker. Sowmya Shenoy died on the spot, Radhakrishna severely injured and has been admitted to the hospital in Udupi.

A case has been registered in the Udupi Traffic Police Station.
