Udupi: The Kundapur additional district sessions court on march 12 sentenced Suresh Marakala to life in prison for battering his parents to death in Honnekumri village of Mandarti near Brahmavar here in May 12, 2014.
On May 12, 2014 Suresh Marakala (29), battered to death his parents Heriya Marakala (65) and Baby Marakalti (60), with a wooden club, when they refused to fulfill his demands of getting money.
Using a wooden club, Suresh battered his parents to death, at their residence in Honnekumari. After committing the crime he informed the neighbours about the murder. Later he moved the bodies to the cashew farm.
On March 12, Justice R V Patil announced life sentence to Suresh Marakala under IPC Section 302 for murder.
Girish Kumar PSI Brahmavar, had Registered the FIR and D T Prabhu CPI Brahmavar Circle had investigated the case and had filed the Charge sheet to the court.
Public Prosecutors T S Jittori, Manjunath Bhat Penne and Pushparaj K Adayanthyaya had argued the case on behalf of the government.
