Udupi: A rare case of a man and his wife dying one after the other has been reported from Noojinabail in Cherkadi in the taluk.

Seena Naik (65), an agriculturist, while working in his farm on Feb 17, had suffered a fall and been injured in the cerebral area of the head. As the treatment rendered in the hospital was not taking any effect, the family gave up hopes and brought him home on Feb 20.

When Susheela (55), his wife, came to know that her husband would not survive, she collapsed and died of a cardiac failure.

When her final rites were completed, the family members noticed some movements in Seena Naik’s limbs. In the hope of saving him, he  was taken to another private hospital. But there too the doctors gave up hopes, hence he was brought home, where he breathed his last on Feb 23.
