Udupi: To Instill Confidence in the public, Police Hold Flag March in City

Udupi: A flag march was held by the district police under the leadership of Superintendent of Police K Annamali and ASP Santhosh Kumar in the City on Sunday, March 8 in connection with the Hindu Samajotsava.

More than 100 Police officials took part in the march. The flag march began from Jodukatte and passed through Diana Circle, Threveni Circle, Service Bus-Stand, Kalasanka and culminated at the Krishna Temple. The march was conducted to instill confidence in the minds of the people and to complete the Hindu Samajotsava programme peacefully.

Speaking to Mangalorean.com, SP said that the march was organised to instill confidence among the people that the department is fully prepared to handle any situation that would hinder in conducting the Samajotsava peacefully. “The district police have made adequate security arrangements for the Samajotsava. Police personnel from outside the district will be deployed along with the district police to maintain law and order during the programme. 150 CCTV cameras have been installed at strategic locations. A total of 22 check posts have been set up across the district. Police will conduct regular checks at sensitive areas and vehicles will be allowed to enter the district only after thorough checking,” he added.
