“24 languages have been recognised by the central government and Konkani is one among them which is due to its rich tradition. Mothers should play a prominent role in the growth of their child. Education imparted in schools is knowledge oriented but a mother’s care develops the child’s personality,” said Padma.

Sandhya Pai, honorary president of the convention, in her keynote address said that the Konkani community is uniting today because of the language and this saga should continue.

Malathi Sagar, Rajashree Shenoy Ullal, Anuradha Dhareshwar Dharawada and Sabitha Monis were felicitated during the convention for their achievements in their respective fields.
