Mumbai, Aug 30 (IANS) Supermodel Ujjwala Raut looked no less than a diva when she sashayed down the ramp in a stunning sheer net crystal gown with long sleeves for designer Monisha Jaising’s show at the ongoing Lakme Fashion Week (LFW) winter-festive 2015 here.

Bollywood actor Arjun Rampal, who has been on a continuous media trial over rumours of troubled marriage with Mehr Jessia, graced the front row with his wife. The couple was spotted exchanging views on the collection as they enjoyed the show together on Saturday.

Businesswoman Nita Ambani was the last guest to reach the venue for the show that was running half an hour late.

Jaising’s ‘Riviera’ collection closed day four of the fashion gala. The designer modernised Riviera look of the 1960s and 1970s.

Opening the show with her trademark white mirror work swimwear, the designer moved on to a white corset sheath and jacket then to her popular kurtis with leather and mirror work orange pants.

Minis came in the shades of yellow and green with mirror work. There was a cut out gown too.

The line of gowns, minis and racer back dresses was interesting.

Playing cleverly with hand knitted insets, the designer placed them on one-shoulder gowns, sleeves and even on a kaftan. The sharply cut maroon and bottle green sequined blazer with jeans were a great brunch wear choice.

“The collection takes its inspiration from street of any riviera in the world… you could be in Goa, Maldives, Cannes or Rome. There are a lot of hats, trousers and embroidered leggings. There are a lot of Indian elements used on leather too,” Jaising said after her show.

The gowns, which is designer’s specialty, had deep plunging necklines and hip-high slits.

Ujjwala thanked the designer for “choosing” her to be the showstopper.

“The entire collection was stunning and I think, the one that I am wearing is very much made for me. The detailing, flow… everything have to come together and the person has to bring that out and she did it perfectly,” she said.

“It is very important for everyone to feel good in whatever he or she is wearing and I love Indian dresses,” she added.
