Unaccounted Rs 6 Lakh Seized in Manjeshwar – Bajpe Man Arrested
Kasaragod: A special team of police monitoring violations of model code of conduct ahead of the assembly elections intercepted a Karnataka SRTC bus at Kunjattur near Manjeshwar and detected an unaccounted sum of Rs 6 lakh being carried by a passenger.
He was identified as Ismail, a resident of Bajpe near Mangaluru. He failed to produce any documents in support of his possession of money.
During interrogation, he is said to have told the police that he had been entrusted with the job of handing over the amount to Shakeer in Kasaragod by one Imtiaz.
The police are pursuing the matter.
