Unreserved ticketing through Mobile APP Introduced

Mangaluru: In a yet another measure to ease the process of ticket booking, Southern Railway extended the facility of booking of the unreserved ticket through Mobile App at the Railway stations having Automatic Ticket Vending Machines (ATVM). The facility is currently available in the suburban section of Chennai Division. With the help of this Application, the passengers would be able to book unreserved tickets through mobile phones through ATVMs installed at Railway stations.

Steps to purchase tickets through ‘utsonmobile’ App:

  • Download the App and install it on your mobile
  • Recharge wallet with minimum of Rs.100/-
  • Go to the Application and book tickets

Get the tickets printed from ATVMs at Railway stations by giving mobile no. and booking ID available on the show ticket option.

The customer can charge their railway Wallet at UTS counters and also by logging on to www.utsonmobile.indianrail.gov.in

After charging the R-Wallet, with a minimum of Rs 100/-, the customer has to book the ticket.

On booking the ticket the customer will get a Booking ID. Along with the mobile number, the booking Id will be necessary to take the print out of the ticket from the ATVM.

Print out of the ticket is necessary

Travelling without the printed ticket is not permitted. In case of any difficulty in getting the ticket from ATVM, the Unreserved Ticket Counters at the Railway station can be approached to get the print-out of the ticket.

Automatic Ticket Vending Machines are available at the following 20 stations.

Mangaluru Jn., Mangaluru Central, Kasaragod, Kanhangad, Payyanur, Kannur, Thalassery, Vadakara, Quilandy, Kozhikkode, Ferok, Parappanangadi, Kuttipuram, Pattambi, Angadipuram, Ottapalam, Shoranur Jn., Palakkad Jn., Tirur, Nilambur Road.

Train Captian Deployed in Mangaluru – Chennai Mail

With the aim of helping passengers to resolve their complaints onboard trains, the service of Train Captain will be available from 9 January 2017 on Train No.12602 Mangaluru-Chennai Mail, which left Mangaluru on January 9. This service will be available throughout the journey.

Passengers with reserved tickets will be provided with the contact number of Train Captain by SMS at the beginning of their journey.
