Uppinangady Police arrest Rape Accused after 14 years
Uppinangady: A rape accused who was absconding since 14 years was arrested by the Uppinangady police on March 22.
The arrested has been identified as Hitesh from Beetalappu Nekkiladi.
In 2004, Hitesh along with Girish had barged into a house at Karaya in Beltangady taluk and raped a woman in front of her husband and children. After raping the woman both Hitesh and Girish were absconding. The Uppinangady police who were investigating the case since then, on March 21, 2018, succeeded in arresting Hitesh from Bengaluru.
Under the direction of SP Ravikanthe Gowda, additional SP Sajith Kumar and Puttur Circle Inspector, the operation was carried out by Uppinangady SI Nandakumar, Harishchandra, Praveen Rai, Irshad and Jagadish.
