VHP and BD demand NIA probe into Paresh Mesta’s Death

Udupi: The Vishwa Hindu Parishath and Bajrang Dal on Tuesday, December 12, demanded a probe by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) into the death of Hindu activist Paresh Mesta, whose body was found in a lake in Honnavar.

Speaking at a press meet held at the press club Gopalji, regional secretary of VHP said that Mesta was brutally killed by some Muslim goondas, who had the support of the police. The VHP and BD condemn the ISIS type of killing of Paresh Mesta. We also are demanding the arrest of Azad Annigeri owner of Good Luck hotel who is the main accused in the case.

Tempers soared after the body of Mesta, who went missing on the night of December 6 from the local Lord Shani temple, was found floating in a nearby lake. The Honnavar DC and Police department say that Mesta’s death is unnatural, it is not an unnatural death it is a pre-planned murder. The killing was covered up because Chief Minister Siddaramaiah was touring the Uttara Kannada district. When RSS worker Sharath Madivala was murdered, the CM was in Mangaluru and information was not revealed to the public initially as the CM had decided to participate in a programme.

As many as 20 Hindu activists have been killed, so far chief minister Siddaramaiah is silent on all these cases. The police department has indirectly supported the culprits to escape. The state government has been appeasing the minorities by neglecting the majority community. He demanded the arrest of those responsible for the death of Mesta.

On Monday Hindu activists were protesting peacefully in Kumta. The police resorted to lathi charge unnecessarily and this angered the protesters. This shows that ‘goondaism’ is prevalent in the Siddaramaiah government. The VHP and BD will hold a statewide protest on December 13 and 14 against the state government’s Anti-Hindu policy. We will not stop protesting until Paresh Mesta’s killers are caught, he said.

VHP and BD leaders Sunil KR, Sharan Pumpwell, Raghu Sakleshpur, Sooryanarayan were present in the press meet.
