Vinayak Baliga Murder Case – Two Arrested

Mangaluru: Police commissioner Chandra Sekhar held a press meet at his office here on March 27.

Addressing the mediapersons Chandra Sekhar said that Vinayak Baliga was murdered on 21, morning near Besant College second lane near PVS Kalakunj, in this connection we have arrested two people.

The arrested have been identified as Vinith Poojary  (26) a resident of Padavinangadi Kavoor and Nishith  Devadiga (23) from Shaktinagar.  Both Vinith  and Nishith  were arrested  in B C Road.

He further said that both the accused are newcomers in crime, they were hired by a person to kill Vinayak Baliga. On March 20, both Vinith and Nishith attempted to kill Vinayak but due to some reasons failed in their attempt. On March 21, at around 5:45 am, both came near Vinayak Baliga’s house, when Vinayak came out from the house they stopped him and inquired about an address and attacked him. Chandra Sekhar also said that our police are duty bound, to trace the people behind the murder, arrest them and solve the case.

He also said, “There are many rumours about the case but I request the public as well as the media to give us some time to investigate the case and arrest those who are behind this contract killing. We are duty bound to investigate the case by getting to the bottom of the conspiracy. We will ensure each and every person accused and is involved in the conspiracy be arrested. We do our duty to the best of our ability and ensure that not only the accused but the conspirators will also be arrested.

when asked about whether they are new to the crime, Chandra Sekhar said that the arrested are not involved in any crime in the past and investigation is on. We do not want to reveal more about the crime in the interest of investigations.

The operation  was carried  out  under the able  guidance  of Commissioner  Chandra  Sekhar, ACP Tilakchandra  and CCB inspector  Valentine D’Souza, Inspector  Bunder  Shantharam, Ravish   Nayak, Maruti  Nayak  and PSI Shyamsundar.

DCP Crime Dr Sanjeev Patil and DCP Law and Order Shantharaju were also present.

Congratulations to Mr. Chandrashekhar,Police Commissioner for the prompt action..Actions like these makes us believe Police work for common citizen and not for only the mighty and powerful.
