Vinayraj Clarifies Allegations on Lobo by Roopa D Bangera’s ‘Sullina Saramale’ Book

Mangaluru: “I have already said that this election is between Negative Publicity vs development and the BJP has proved it by putting false allegations on MLA J R Lobo. In a press meet on May 2, Corporator Roopa D Bangera had released a book “Sullina Saramale” with allegations on J R Lobo. The BJP has secured a PhD in saying lies, from the common party worker to the Prime minister all have made lies as their investment and are preparing for the Assembly Elections”, said the Congress spokesperson Vinayraj in a press meet held at the Mangaluru South Constituency election office, Kadri here on May 3.

Clarifying the allegations levelled on J R Lobo by corporator Roopa D Bangera, Vinayraj said, “When Yeddyurappa was the Chief Minister, he had not sanctioned Rs 300 crore but had just made an announcement. The BJP has forgotten that the Siddaramaiah government has sanctioned Rs 100 crore for the second and third phase. When the BJP is putting allegations they should have the documents. MLA Lobo had released a book of the development work done in the South constituency in the five years of his tenure. When the book was released and the BJP got its copy they got nervous and started negative publicity against Lobo. In 2013, when the Congress government came to power, the BJP government led by Yeddyurappa had left Rs 15,000 crore bills pending which we should all remember”.

Vinayraj further said, “When Lobo became the MLA, there was no proper footpath in the city. There was a problem with drainage system and MLA Lobo brought Rs 195 crore for the reconstruction of the drainage system under the ADB project. Increasing the height Vented dam by 6 meters to store water he solved the drinking water problem. In five years of Lobo’s tenure, 60% of the footpath work has been done and tender has been called for rest of the footpath construction work. The street vendors have been relocated near the Service bus stand. Why did Roopa D Bangera not oppose while the street vendors were relocated? The Kadri deer park is in Roopa’s ward and it was left unattended but Lobo developed it and brought the musical fountain. From 2008 to 2013 BJP was in power and Roopa D Bangera was the corporator of Kadri ward. Why did she not take the initiative to develop the children’s train in Kadri park? Lobo approached the women and child welfare department for funds and the department sanctioned Rs 2 crore for the development of the toy train. The Chief Minister had flagged off the children’s train, now we have applied for the approval letter from the Railway department because MLA is concerned about the safety of the children. The Bejai market was in pathetic condition but Lobo has developed the market. Being the corporator for two terms why has Roopa D Bangera not done anything even when the BJP government was in power?”
