We need Active MP for DK, We will Strive for Mithun Rai’s Victory- Congress & JD(S)
Mangaluru: “We have got the coalition government in the state and we are contesting the elections in all the 38 constituencies. Already the District Joint Election committee has been formed under the able leadership of former minister Ramanth Rai. The JD(S) and Congress leaders after holding a meeting have formed a strategy for the election campaign. Our high command has given the chance to our able youth leader to contest the LS polls and we the coalition leaders will work hard for the success of our candidate in the LS polls”, said the District Congress president Harish Kumar in a press meet held at the DCC office Mallikatta here on March 24.
Addressing the media persons District Congress President Harish Kumar said, “The District BJP is zero in development, because of the surgical strike they have got some kind if power to hang on. In the last 5 years, BJP has not given any people-friendly schemes. Our MP has not done anything for the District. In regard to the flyovers, the MP has been fooling the people giving different dates every time but is yet unable to complete the work. From the past 27 years, the BJP MPs have not done anything. They have sold the airport and the port to private companies. This time we are fielding our able youth leader as our candidate and he will surely win the elections.”
District president of JD(S) Mohammed Kunhi said, “Our coalition government has given many development schemes. In the last elections, the BJP came to power in the name of Rama. Now, no Rama, their achievement is zero in 5 years. This time the failure of the BJP MP will bring success for our candidate. We the JD(S) and Congress party workers will work hard for the victory of our candidate Mithun Rai.”
Speaking on the occasion former minister Amarnath Shetty said, “The high command has given the opportunity for our youth leader to contest the elections which is a good decision by the high command. We will all support Mithun Rai since we need an able candidate to win the elections. We have already started our campaign and we will make sure that our candidate wins the LS polls in DK.”
Former minister Ramanth Rao and M B Sadashiv also spoke on the occasion.
MLC Ivan D’Souza, former MLAs J R Lobo, Moideen Bava, Abhaychandra Jain, MP candidate Mithun Rai and others were also present.
