WERC holds First ever Professional MTB Race in Mangaluru
Mangaluru: 31st of March was a unique day, as Mangalore witnessed its first ever Professional MTB (Mountain Terrain Biking) Race, organized by We R Cycling (WERC) Mangalore.
Taking advantage of Mangalore’s unique terrain, team WERC organized a befitting MTB Race to nurture, and to the expose the young to the beautiful sport of Mountain Biking. Cycling is in its nascent stage and is soon finding grip among people of all ages. WERC introduced the thrill of Road Bike racing, professionally, in 2017, and has organized no less than 10 Road Bike races till date. The Hill Classic Road Race is the most popular, attracting cyclists of national repute from far and wide! continuing on the gaining popularity for professionally organized cycling events, WERC launched MTB racing in Dakshina Kannada on 31st March 2019.

Summary of the WERC MTB Race:
In its very first edition, the event had an overwhelming response from 25 enthusiastic cyclists that took part in various categories.
Vivek secured the first place, with Sidhanth a close second in the Under 18 category.
In the Above 18 category, Shashank Pal spun his way first to the finish line, with Shrinidhi Urala, and Dhanraj Karkera securing a hard-fought second, and third place.
In the Above 30 category, cycling stalwart Navin Kotian secured the first place.
