London, April 2 (IANS) Argentine winger Angel Di Maria, who now plays for Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), has held Manchester United head coach Louis van Gaal responsible for his failure to settle in the English football club, and even blamed the Dutch tactician for forcing him to play out of his position.

“I started a game in a position, and then the next one I would be in another. I scored goals playing in one position, and then suddenly the next game I was picked to play in a different position,” BBC quoted Di Maria as saying on Friday.

“It’s more that they didn’t let me settle properly than I couldn’t settle. I left a team that was out of the European competition and far away from being champions of the Premier League. I don’t think it was my fault or the fault of my team mates,” Di Maria explained.

The 28-year-old moved from Manchester United to PSG last summer for 63 million euros ($71.7 million), reports Efe.

“I decided to leave, not only to be happy, but to win things,” Di Maria added.

He expressed satisfaction regarding his first season with PSG, which has already guaranteed the Ligue 1 title, while he gave praise to his current coach Laurent Blanc.
