Having awareness programmes like this one, will bring more knowledge about vigilance among people, which will reduce illegal activities. Since corruption has been one of the major obstacles to economic, political and social progress of our country, and locally, this vigilance awareness week observed by Airport Authority will help educate people about vigilance, and make them good citizens”

MIA Deputy Commissioner Amith Kumar speaking said, ” Combating corruption is not just a matter of making laws and creating institutions, but is deeply rooted in human values and morals of individuals. Corruption can be defined as a dishonest or unethical conduct by a person entrusted with a position of authority, either to obtain benefits to oneself or to some other person. Just look at the Punjab National Bank crisis, which has put thousands of people in hardships, and many have committed suicide, all because of greed and corruption of the bank officials. It is therefore imperative that the public must be sensitized and motivated towards efforts at weeding out corruption. And this Vigilance Awareness Week by AIA is a good initiative to bring awareness on Vigilance and Integrity”.
