Mangaluru: Modi Barper! Modi Baruthara! Modi is Coming! That’s right- with a huge slogan “Sarkara Badalayisi, BJP Gellisi'” in front of the main stage at Nehru Maidan/Football ground, where PM Narendra Modi will address a mammoth crowd this evening, elaborate arrangements and security has been done prior to PM’s visit to the City. Probably this is the Third time that Modi is visiting Mangaluru. Modi will be landing at Maryhill helipad at around 6pm, and from there will proceed to Nehru Maidan

Barricades have already been placed throughout PM Modi’s arrival route in the City. There will be a restriction for nearly 13 hours on the parking of vehicles in identified places in the city today, May 5 from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. in view of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit. Police Commissioner Vipul Kumar had issued a notification on the same on Thursday. Accordingly, unnecessary parking of vehicles within a 500 m radius of Nehru Maidan, where Modi will address an election rally between 6 pm-7pmp.m., has been banned.

It also applies to parking of vehicles in the premises of Circuit House at Kadri. The parking of vehicles on the road from Kenjar to the Nehru Maidan via Maravoor, Marakada, Kavoor, Bondel, Padavinangady, Yeyyadi, Karnataka Polytechnic, Batta Gudde, Kadri Kambala, Bunts Hostel, Ambedkar Circle, Balmatta, Hampankatta, A.B. Shetty Circle has been banned. The notification would be in force till 9 p.m. on Saturday for security purpose.

Buses and other vehicles arriving into the City for the rally will be allocated parking space at 10 locations in the City, while VIP parking has been permitted at Town Hall, Mangaluru. Buses coming from Udupi, Mulki, Surathkal through Kottara Chowki will have to park at Karavali Utsav ground, near Mangala Stadium and Urwa Marker ground. Car parking for those arriving from the same route will be at Dongarakery Canara High School ground.

Buses coming from Moodbidiri-Karkal-Bajpe-Kateel-route via Nanthoor will park at Padua High school ground. Cars coming on the same route will park at Ramakrishna School ground near Bunts Hostel., and at Mallikkatta ground. Buses and other vehicles coming from Belthangady, Bantwal, via Pumpwell will park at Vamana Nayak Ground, near Nandigudda. Vehicles from Sullia-Puttur-and Madikeri via Pumpwell route will park at Yemmekere ground. Buses from Ullal-Konaje-Kasargod via Jeppu will park at Morgangate ground.

It is advisable ONLY if you have to go towards Hampankatta or state Bank, then plan your trip, if not avoid it, since the roads will be jam-packed.
