Youth wanted in Cow Theft and Trafficking arrested by DCIB Police
Mangaluru: The DCIB police arrested a youth in connection with cow theft and trafficking at B C Road here on September 4.
The arrested has been identified as Mohammed Elal (25) from Farangipet.
According to the police on while the DCIB police were on night patrol, on September 4 early morning at around 4:30 am they arrested Mohammed Elal at B C Road. Mohammed was arrested under crime number 87/2018, section 379 IPC and 8, 11 of Cruelty to Animals Act 1960 and 66 and 192(a) IMV act. The police seized a Fiat Punto car bearing number KA 19 AB 1019 from his possession.
Other accused in this case, Mansoor alias Manchu from Ammammar, Arafa alias Abubacker Siddiq, Zainu alias Zainuddin and Farooq are absconding. The police are searching for the accused.
Mansoor is involved in various crimes and 8 cases have been registered against him. 5 cases of Cow theft and trafficking in the Bantwal Rural police station, 1 each in Sagar Rural Police station, Uppinangadi and Puttur town police stations. Zainuddin is involved in assault cases and three cases have been registered against him in the Bantwal Rural police station.
Under the direction of SP of DK Dr Ravikante Gowda and ASP Sajith, the operation was carried out by the DCIB inspector Sunil Y Naik, Vasu Naika, Lakshman K G, Iqbal A E, Uday Rai, Praveen M, Taranath and Shonma.
