ZP CEO should Take action against EO Sadanand for Corruption – MLA Dr Bharath
Mangaluru: “On September 15, I received information that the Executive officer of the Taluk Panchayat was gheraoed by the PDOs for not approving the budget since he had kept all the files with him without sending them for approval from the past 6 months. When I received the information, I visited the Taluk Panchayat where all the PDOs met me and shared their grievances. When I asked the Executive officer he said, “The finance department is taking money for approving the budget. I immediately informed the CEO and the DC about the issue. The CEO sent a show cause notice to the Executive officer and the agriculture director was directed to investigate the issue. Even after twenty-four hours, no action was taken against the EO. The CEO should take strict action against the EO for corruption”, said the MLA of Mangaluru North Constituency Dr Bharath Shetty in a press meet held at the BJP office here on September 18.
Addressing the mediapersons MP Nalin Kumar Kateel said, “The power of the state is in the hands of the government officers and not with the CM and DCM because the state government is not ruled by Kumaraswamy or the DCM Dr Parameshwar. If they would have ruled the state, the Executive officer would not say that without receiving the bribe he cannot pass the budget. The EO says that he should give money to the Finance department to release the funds. In the state government, corruption is rampant from the CM’s Chair to the Gram Panchayat level. When the finance department is under the Chief Minister how can the EO say that he has to pay money to the Finance Department to release funds for the Gram Panchayat.”
MP Nalin Kumar Kateel said, “The CM has completed 100 days, what is the CM doing? Why is he not taking action against the EO? Corruption is rampant in the state, good officers are committing suicide. The state government should clarify their stand on this issue. We demand the government to form an investigation team to stop such crimes. The percentage government is ruling our state. The truth should prevail. Our MLAs will raise the issue in the Assembly if the concern authorities will not take action against such officers. The EOs should not be allowed in one particular office for more than 4 months but EO Sadanand is working in Taluk Panchayat for more than two years. The district minister in-charge has maintained silence in this issue. There should be an investigation and strict action should be taken against the EO. The state government is supporting corruption in the state.”
