Meaning Celebration of World Dance Day by Nrityaantaranga Saptaha

 Puttur : On the occasion of World Dance Day, Shree Mookambika Cultural Academy(R.) of Puttur organised “Nrityaantaranga Saptaha” a 7 days cultural festival in its own space of performance ‘Shashi-Shankara Sabhangana’ located near the heart of Darbe junction in Puttur . The event was celebrated from 29th of April to 5th of may which consisted of various Indian dance forms like Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi, Odissi, Kathak which was especially performed by male artists hailed from different parts of the country.

Nrityaantaranga-65 , the first day event on World DanceDay- April 29th – was performed by 8 teams consisting of 38 members of Shree Mookambika Cultural Academy. Smt.Shashiprabha, one of the trustees of the Academy inaugurated the programme by lighting the Lamp and Mr.Karthik, one old passed out student of this Academy gave an introductory speech narrating the relevance and historical background of the particular celebration. Karthik also talked about his association with the institution recollecting the past memories of the classes of his time.

Nrityaantaranga-66, on 30th of April had a wonderful performance of Odissi by Dr.Biswajith Dash from Orissa. Dr.Das also gave a lecture demonstration as an introduction to the new dance farm, Odissi to the audience of Puttur. The chief guest of the programme journalist Mr.Mahesh Puccheppady who inaugurated and addressed the audience. He also quoted that “fine arts play an important role in maintaining healthy society”.

Nrityaantaranga-67, 3rd day of event on May 1st was inaugurated by chief guest Smt.Vidya Giridhar (Partner, M.Sanjeeva Shetty & sons,Puttur). ‘Bhamakalapam’ a famous dance drama form of Andrapradesh was performed by Sri Suryanarayan Rao and Sri Krishnamurthy Thunga which was first of its kind to perform in Nrityantaranga had got huge round of appreciation from audience. Surya Rao performed as Sathybhama where Krishnamurthy Thunga played the role of Madhavi, Bhama’s Sakhi.

Nrityaantaranga-68, the 4th Day on May 2nd observed Mr.Karthik Shetty from Bengaluru performing Kathak art form. Sri Ravindra P & Smt Usha Ravindra of Daksha consultancy,Puttur inaugurated the event and addressed the audience regarding the the dance forms and its revelance in the society. He also appreciated the works of SMC Academy in making the art forms popular in the small town of Puttur.

Nrityaantaranga-69, 5th day on May 3rd event had the Bharatanatyam performance of Sri Pradyumna Achar from Sagara. The performance was heart touching and fascinating. Dr.Raviprakash, surgeon,Dhanvanthari Hospital, Puttur inaugurated the programme and talked about the dedication and perseverence in learning process of any Art form for that matter.

Nrityaantaranga-70, the 6th Day on 4th of April had an talented artist Sri.Atanu Das from Kolkata performing Bharatanatyam which has set a permanent image in the mind of audience. The event was inaugurated by Sri Rajamani Ramakunja, Retired lecturer, SVS College, Bantwal. Mr Rajamani talked beautifully and scholarly on the Rasa Concept explained in Natya Shastra.

Nrityaantaranga-71, 7th day as well as last day programme Kathak was performed by Lakshminarayan Jena of Bengaluru.. The performance visualized a great experience of nuanses of the Abinaya aspects in kathak dance form which was mind-blowing. The chief guest of event Dr.Narasimha Sharma Kanavu, Dermatologist, Puttur inaugurated and addressed the audience.

Likewise a week long events happened in a small town of Puttur organised by a private institution Shree Mookambika Cultural Academy(R.) which was one of the rarest kind of cultural events in Puttur. The Artistic Director Vidwan Deepak Kumar and all the trustees and the disciples of Deepak Kumar with an unending enthusiasm made a remarkable memories and thereby creating a healthy atmosphere in sprouting interests and curiosity in the minds of spectators.
