New York: U T Khader, minister of health and family welfare in the southern Indian state of Karnataka, represented India at the world health meet held in New York on Nov 9 and 10.
On Sunday, Nov 8 he was honoured by Kannada Koota of New York and New Jersey. The members commended him for his dedicated efforts towards community health and for taking innovative steps in the working of his department.
Khader complimented the Kannada Koota members for keeping the Kannada spirit alive and vibrant even in spite of a geographical distance of thousands of kilometres.
He also appreciated their mission in spreading the Kannada culture, traditions and literature, besides introducing them to people of other nations.
Those present included Dr Shriram from Bengaluru, a senior member, Sudha Rao Suratkal, Dr Vasu, Gopinath, Dr Mallika Prasad, Dr Vivek, Shivakumar, Dr Ballal, entrepreneur Asif Amaco and many others
