Outgoing Udupi DC Venkatesh given Warm Farewell

Udupi: Outgoing Deputy Commissioner T Venkatesh, who has been posted as MD of Mysuru Sugars Company, was given a warm farewell by officials at the Zilla Panchayat Auditorium here on Thursday, February 23.

The newly appointed deputy Commissioner Priyanka Mary Francis honoured T Venkatesh and said that the outgoing DC Venkatesh is known for his strict decisions, he always used to take decisions within the law. He was well experienced in revenue issues; his work pattern is an inspiration for all.

Outgoing DC Venkatesh in his message expressed satisfaction with his tenure and the support of his colleagues. “In my service, I have worked honestly within the law. I have disposed maximum applications at my office besides clearing all cases related to the revenue department”.

“I was accidently transferred to Udupi district and before I could know the district well, I have been transferred. The transfer is common for government employees, I have done my work honestly during my six months service here as DC. During my tenure, I have taken bold steps against illegal sand mining. We work on the orders of the union government in Toll collection issue”, he added.

Anuradha Additional DC, Shilpa Naag assistant commissioner Kundapur, Vishnuvardhan SP in-charge Udupi, Yogeshwar deputy director Food department, Manjunathaiah commissioner CMC also spoke on the occasion.

Sheela K Shetty vice president Zilla Panchayat, Meenakshi Madhava president CMC Udupi, Nalini Pradeep Rao president Taluk Panchayat were also present.

  1. Sand Mining and Toll Collection are not issues that relate to the people of Udupi.

    Instead the Municipality and the MPW should work on proper and timely garbage
    collection Road repairs, provision of pavements, eradicating illegal hawkers, food
    vendors, and Girls with a child begging. The local police and as well the Traffic Dept.,
    should also involve themselves to arrest and vacate illegal shops on pavements,
    vegetable vendors on pavements, cart fruit vendors, to make Udupi a better and
    cleaner place to live in.

    Just opposite to the Police Station at the Clock Tower Udupi – there are 3 food
    vendors – one selling Omlettes right at the Motorcycles Parking lot, and two selling
    Chats and Bhelpuri outside the Govt. Junior college – why can’t the cops see this –
    are they so blind!
