1,174.28 mts long Drawing by Pradeesh K -Udupi to Enter Guinness World Record

Mangaluru: In the month of August 2017, Team Mangalorean had done a feature article on Prithvish K Bhat (the brother of Pradeesh K) a Guinness Record holder for his creation of arts using Rubik Cubes (Ref: http://www.mangalorean.com/guinness-record-holder-prithvish-k-creates-worlds-1st-rubik-cube-ganesh-idol/) – and now his brother Pradessh K Bhat is all set to enter into the Gunness Boof of world records for his painting which is 1,174.28 meters long- and he did this drawing in 33 hours and 58 minutes. At present, the record for the “longest drawing by an individual” of 660.222 metres is held by Parimalakanth Kumaravijayan of Tamil Nadu.

17-year-old Pradeesh K from Pethri in Udupi district Pradeesh K on Friday, 10 November made an attempt to create a Guinness world record for the “longest drawing by an individual” at the Viveka PU College at Kota in Udupi district by doing this drawing- he worked for 33 hours and 58 minutes from November 7 to 10 for the record in creating this drawing. The drawing was done on a 10-cm wide paper roll on 10 cm paper roll, which is about 40 mts long in nearly 34 hours on the theme ‘Swachh Bharath’. He used 25-and-a-half such rolls in the last four days for his drawing- and only pen, colour pencil, crayons, charcoal and ink were used.

Pradeesh started doing this drawing at 9.27 am on Tuesday, November 7- where he devoted the first day to “Glorious India (Bhavya Bharath)’, in which, Pradeesh drew the India that was completely green many many years ago. On the second day, he highlighted the ‘Polluted India’ on which he stressed the ways in which India is getting polluted at present.On the third day he projected the idea of ‘Clean India (Swachh Bharath)’ by drawing his imagination of hygienic India on the canvas. The fourth and final day was dedicated to the concept of ‘Developed India’. In between these four days of hectic painting, Pradeesh had taken rest only for food and tea twice during this period.

Four persons namely Ramesh Rao, senior artist, D.V. Hegde, Assistant Executive Engineer, Public Works Department, Kodi Gopal Kharvi, a Guinness record holder, and Notary Karje Balakrishna Shetty had witnessed Pradeesh’s drawing on all four days, and have certified it. Since the representatives of the Guinness World Records were not present at the event, a fully video-graphed footage would be sent to the Guinness World Record them. The result about the Record will be known only in February 2018, if Pradeesh’s entry has been selected. At the moment only the formality of official announcement by the Guinness organization is awaited.

Son of K.S. Prasad, an agriculturist at Pethri, and Prasanna P. Bhat, home-maker, Pradeesh Bhat presently is a student of II PU Commerce at Viveka PU College in Kota. His achievement in Field of Art is the Most thread 59 art paintings in one hour 59 in 60 minutes; and also having won – Assist World Records; Unique World Records; and India Book of Records. His Unique skills is Creating painting within 5 minutes of time; Art by leg, fire, salt, glue, water, sand, coffee, tea, x-ray , blind folded etc.. In reality shows- as a speed painter participated in ETV/Colors Kannada –“Balaghandarva” in 2nd std; Suvarna channel -Superstar of Karnataka in 4th std; Suvarna channel -Putani Pantru-season 1 – 3rd runner up in 8th std; and has won more than 500 prizes – including International, 1 National, 11 State and other district level.

Awards to his credits are from: Government of Karnataka Balavana Society- state level- “Kalashri”; Bharatiya Lalithakala institute – state level – “Kalachaithra” Women and children welfare society Udupi – “Asadharana Pratibhe”; Makkala Dhwani- Dakshina Kannada makkala sahithya sangama – “Prathibha Puraskar”; “Chatrapuraskar” – Havyaka sabha B’lore; Karnataka pratibha ratna – beladingala sammelana; Aralu mallige – jnanamandara trust; Lions-udupi “Balaprathibhe”; and Yaksharanga -“Balakalavidha”. Apart from these he has received awards from Rotary, JCI and other institutes.

As a speed painter performed more than 200 programmes in various places like Bengaluru, Rameshwara, Mangaluru, Udupi, Mysore, Shringeri, Shivamogga, Puttur, Tumkur, Kundapur etc; and had organized Exhibitions at Mugdhateya Geregalu –Udupi-2012; Makkala dhwani –Barkur-2012; and Chitrasiri-Alvas nudisiri -2015 . His hobbies are-Karate, Magic, Guitar, Wealth from waste, Craft, Singing, Dance, clay modeling and others.

Rules for Longest drawing by an individual:

The measurement must take place in a public place or in a venue open to public inspection; The drawing must depict a recognisable image. This is at the discretion of Guinness World Records; Although the record is based on the length, the overall area of the drawing and the height should also be given; Every stage of the drawing must be completed by the same individual. This must be confirmed by the independent witnesses; and The design should be submitted for pre-approval by Guinness World Records.

Pradeesh K had selected this topic for this 1,174.28 mts long Drawing because he wanted to bring an awareness and proper implementation of PM Narendra Modi’s “Swachh Bharat Campaign, and his intention was that the youth should get inspired and get involved in it.
