217 Persons Test Positive For Coronavirus in Udupi Dist on August 6
Udupi: According to the district health bulletin, 217 persons have tested positive for the Coronavirus in Udupi on August 6 taking the total number of positive cases in the district to 5353.
Among the 217 new cases, 90 are in Udupi, 81 in Kundapur, 44 in Karkala, and two from outside the district.
As many as 85 cases are symptomatic and 132 are asymptomatic. Among them, 129 are male and 88 female out of which 93 have contracted the infection from primary contacts, 62 have ILI symptoms, 9 have SARI symptoms, 51 are under investigation and two have domestic travelling history.
The number of active cases in the district has now gone up to 2153 . So far, 3157 patients have been discharged from the hospital after complete recovery, and 50 persons have succumbed to COVID-19.
As of now, 1229 throat swab samples are pending for results, 1991 samples were sent for testing on August 6 and 1685 samples were tested negative. So far, a total of 33455 swab samples out of the 40044 have tested negative for the coronavirus.
