26-yr-old Dalit Woman Raped by Youth on Pretext of Marriage
Kundapur: A youth lured a 26-year-old Dalit woman with the promise of marriage and raped her in the Gangolli Police station limits. The victim has filed a complaint in the Gangolli Police Station.
The accused Surendra Shetty (26) is a resident of Kolluru.
According to the police, the youth Surendra Shetty approached the Dalit girl of Gujjadi and befriended her. The friendship turned into love and both clicked photos on the beach side. After promising to marry her, he developed a physical relationship with the woman. Later Surendra refused to marry and threatened her with life if she reported the incident to the police. The accused Surendra Shetty is now absconding and search is on for him.
The Gangolli Police have registered a case and investigation is on.
Any thing unusual in this story so far? Not much. But wait till the media comes with versions including political affiliation of the culprit.
Sorry to hear that the woman was taken advantage of. Again, nothing unusual except the mention of her caste and his name which made his caste obvious.
Why not catch him and make him marry her? Not that simple either. Must be a fraud who may just be jobless and looking for a free dip.
This character needs public shaming and the woman should refuse to marry him. Give her a job if she needs one. Votes guaranteed.
