271 Persons Test Positive and 6 Die of COVID-19 in DK on Aug 15
Mangaluru: According to the district health bulletin, 271 persons have tested positive for the Coronavirus and 6 persons have died of COVID-19 in Dakshina Kannada district on August 15.
Out of the 271 positive cases, 128 persons are suffering from influenza-like illness (ILI), 10 persons are suffering from Severe Acute Respiratory Infection (SARI) and 39 persons had contracted the disease from primary contacts. The health officials are tracing the contacts of 128 others.
Out of the 271 cases tested positive, 177 persons are from Mangaluru, 47 from Bantwal, 23 from Puttur, 14 from Belthangady, 1 from Sullia and 9 from other districts.
Meanwhile, 202 persons were also discharged from the hospitals after complete recovery.
So far 8649 positive cases have been reported in the district and 262 of them have died of the disease. At present, there are 2070 active cases in the district.
All the 271 persons have been shifted to the designated COVID hospitals for further treatment.
